Background
- The Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE) was launched by the Free State Provincial Government in 1997.
- Since its launch MACUFE became one of the biggest cultural festival on the African continent with international acclaim.
- Over the years the festival has grown in leaps and bounds experiencing glitches here and there.
