Welcome to Khamkirri, your adventure destination in the Green Kalahari. Khamkirri, the Nama word for place of the leopard is a 7500 ha Private Game Reserve on the bank of the Orange River, a few kilometres upstream of the famous Augrabies Falls.
Khamkirri Private Game Reserve provides a wide range of accommodation options, and countless activities. We are situated on the bank of the Orange River, also known as the Gariep. Our camping sites and chalets are on the banks of this mighty flowing river. Our bush bar and deck area is ideally situated on the banks of the Mighty Orange river. This is the perfect venue for Sundowner drinks and dinners overlooking the river with all its tranquilty and beauty – this is a special destination for families wanting to explore our beautiful country.
Khamkirri offers accommodation and Activities for the outdoor adventurer. All camps have basic ablution facilities which include toilets, showers and basins, hot water and electricity. With it`s abundance of wild life such as our 11 different species of game, among others, the Blou Wildebees, Rooi Hartebees, Kudu, Gemsbok, Springbok and Giraffe as well as the Camel Thorn Trees and Quiver Trees, this breakaway is an experience not to forget.
Camel Thorn River Camp:Developed on the banks of the Orange River, this 180ha camp is the ideal getaway for family and group holidays. Accessible for all vehicles, everybody has the opportunity to share the beauty and tranquillity of the mighty river. Each campsite has it`s own braai facility with braai grid. Wood and ice is available for our guests. Central ablution block with electricity and hot water. Bring own camping gear.
Our venue is perfect for functions, team building and school groups – and we have successfully conducted fantastic sessions for groups of up to 60 people – including the Lions rugby team. We provide a full-service solution, including conference venue, catering including outside catering and special dinners and activities, including river rafting, 4×4, game viewing, abseiling and paintball to name but a few.
