Derick Roodt Motors was formed on the 1st February 2008. The owner, Derick Roodt, an established figure in the motor industry, initially started his career in 1996 as a used vehicle salesperson by the then known as Delta Motor Corporation at Westvaal Delta Klerksdorp. In the 12 years that Derick was part of the company, he received various prestigious awards and was also promoted to sales manager for used and new passenger vehicles. In 2007, Derick’s used vehicle department and GM Durban, jointly were awarded as the number 1 departments for used vehicles for GM South Africa, and it was clear that Derick is a leader in the used vehicle market.
1st February was a new beginning in difficult financial times, but Derick only had one goal to achieve, and that was to make Derick Roodt Motors into one of the largest motor dealers in the Province. This goal was achieved with hard work and ambition, and nearly 2 years down the line, Derick Roodt Motors is one of the most successful motor dealerships in the district with 3 showrooms in Klerksdorp, where Derick is joined by 15 employees. According to Derick, the secret to success is to keep in-house costs to a minimum to ensure that all clients receive an outstanding transaction. He also says that his sales, finance and administration personnel are fully competent and are the back bone of the company – ” Such people are rare and that is why I ensure that all of my staff members are happy, and together we can satisfy our client’s needs”.
Derick believes that change and improvements are always needed, that is why the company will be changing the name to Inspectacar Derick Roodt Motors.
Inspectacar is a division of Wesbank – franchised-backed and endorsed by Wesbank – and Derick feels that the change will bring more peace of mind to clients. Derick Roodt Motors has become a market leader in the motor industry, and our motto “Creating Friendships For Life”, can be seen in all aspects of our business.
