The Goldrush Group was originally Viva Bingo, a name synonymous with the bingo industry in South Africa since 1997, and Goldrush slots, operating 7 bingo venues in Gauteng and LPM machines in Gauteng, Limpopo and The Northwest.
During the early part of 2011, the company stepped up its plans to consolidate the group. A comprehensive review process was implemented focused on addressing the requirements from a tax, legal and shareholder perspective. Several experts in the field of taxation, company law and corporate valuation and investment were engaged to guide the company through the process. A comprehensive consolidation plan was presented by the CEO, CFO and advisors to the management and major shareholders in September to November 2011. Every shareholder in the group has supported and endorsed the plan to consolidate.
The company has been re-branded the Goldrush Group and will have divisions branded similarly such as Goldrush Bingo and Goldrush Slots. The re-branding has proven itself already with the opening of the first Goldrush Bingo branch in Middelburg being such a tremendous success.
The Goldrush Group is thus a diversified gaming company currently comprised of 17 companies owning interests in bingo and LPM licences in 5 provinces.
The Goldrush Group is extremely sensitive to the level of unemployment, especially amongst the youth in the communities in which it operates its business. Over the years Goldrush Group adopted a policy of targeting unemployed persons between the ages of 22 and 35 years, especially the historically disadvantaged youth.
