Daves Meat Market was gebore op 1 Aug 1994 in Fort Straat naby die ou kragstasie in Bloemfontein. Aan die bestuur van dinge was Dave Nel (snr), en Dave se vrou Paula. Op daardie stadium het Dave (wat nou die eienaar is) nog in Botshabelo gewerk en net naweke by Daves Meat Market gehelp. In 1997 het Dave sy werk bedank en n slaghuis by die Taxi staanplaas gekoop.
In 1998 het Dave (Snr) die Fort St besigheid na Mauser St in Generaal De Wet geskuif, waar hulle nog steeds is. Intussen is die slaghuis by die Taxi parkerings verkoop, Dave Jnr het Dave Snr uitgekoop en die slaghuis vergroot na 550vkm.
During 2001 turnover grew with 300%. 2001 also saw us obtaining an industrial wors manufacturing plant. The only privately owned one in South Africa with the exception of Woolworths. This resulted in Wors sales climbing to 25 000kg per month. Many industrial machines followed and we are famous for our russians and viennas.
Our client base exceeds 15 000 and includes schools, hospitals, restaurants, lodges and government.
In 2005 and 2007 we were the only butchery in the Free State to be nominated and proceed to the finals of the CLEAVER AWARDS. In 2008 we won the SANLAM GLOBAL AWARD for excellent service.
